1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Mateo Vallejo Moncada trading as Hausie Home ("Hausie", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses and stores personal information when you use:
- our public website and store at

www.hausiehome.com/store - our user portal at
www.hausiehome.com/portal - our smart home installation, support and subscription services
- our Home Assistant addon and related connected device services
2. What this policy covers
This Privacy Policy covers personal information handled by Hausie through its own systems and service providers. Customer-managed systems, including Home Assistant and other third-party integrations, may process additional household or device information separately from Hausie.
3. Personal information we collect directly
Depending on how you interact with Hausie, we may collect:
- account information such as email address, password, name and language preferences
- profile information such as phone number, date of birth, address, suburb, state and postcode
- installation and household information such as service address, smart house name, Hausie device ID and installation details
- support information such as support ticket details, phone number, support notes and messages
- appointment and booking information such as preferred booking time, address and installation notes
- order information such as order identifiers, line items, status, amount and currency
4. Information we receive from other sources
We may receive information from:

5. Home Assistant and connected smart home systems
Hausie may integrate with Home Assistant and other customer-managed smart home systems. Those systems may independently collect, process and store household activity, device events, automations, local logs, sensor states and usage history.
Hausie only collects information from those systems that is transmitted to Hausie for purposes described in this Privacy Policy, such as:
- account management
- installation and device pairing
- subscription and feature management
- diagnostics and remote support
- inventory and configuration processing
- service improvement and troubleshooting
Hausie may receive technical and inventory-related information such as:
- areas
- devices
- entity identifiers
- Home Assistant users
- inventory summaries
- device heartbeat and support telemetry
Hausie does not describe itself in this policy as collecting the complete household action history or event history unless and until that functionality is enabled and this policy is updated.
Data analytics, de-identification and AI development
Hausie may also collect operational smart-home data for analytics, research, service improvement, product development and future artificial intelligence features where that functionality is enabled.
This may include categories such as:
- device types
- manufacturer or model metadata
- device states or status changes
- automation events
- timestamps
- generic room or zone labels
- aggregated energy, performance or reliability metrics
Before operational smart-home data is used for analytics, research, product improvement or artificial intelligence development, Hausie intends to remove, aggregate or transform information that is reasonably capable of identifying an individual, household, address, account or specific customer.
Hausie does not intend to use the following for artificial intelligence training purposes unless this policy is updated and any required consent or notice is obtained:
- customer names
- street addresses
- email addresses
- phone numbers
- account credentials
- Wi-Fi passwords or SSIDs
- precise GPS coordinates
- raw camera footage
- raw microphone recordings
- free-text support messages or similar directly identifying text fields
De-identification, aggregation and transformation are intended to reduce privacy risk, but no de-identification process can promise zero re-identification risk in every circumstance.
Where required by applicable law, or where Hausie chooses to offer a customer choice, Hausie will provide notice at or before collection and may seek consent or provide an opt-out or equivalent control for eligible analytics or AI uses.
6. How we use personal information
We may use personal information to:
- create and manage user accounts
- authenticate users and keep the portal secure
- process orders and installations
- deliver and facilitate delivery of our services
- activate, manage and support subscriptions and free trials
- pair and manage Hausie-connected devices and installations
- provide diagnostics, support and authorised remote support
- schedule, reschedule and manage appointments
- send administrative, billing, support and service notices
- monitor, protect and improve our services
- comply with our legal obligations
What we do not provide or control
Hausie does not itself provide or control all services or systems that may interact with a customer's smart-home environment. Depending on the setup, this may include:
- internet access or telecommunications services
- electricity supply or network services
- third-party voice assistants such as Alexa or Google Home
- Home Assistant core software
- third-party manufacturer clouds, firmware, APIs or mobile apps
Changes, outages, account restrictions, discontinuations or security events affecting third-party systems may affect how Hausie services operate.
7. Payments
Subscription and payment processing is handled by Stripe.
Hausie does not store full debit or credit card numbers in its own systems. Hausie may receive limited payment-related information from Stripe, such as customer identifiers, subscription identifiers, subscription status, plan details and billing period dates.
8. Cookies, storage and similar technologies
Hausie uses client-side storage and may use cookies or similar technologies for:
- authentication and session management
- remembering portal or device selections
- storing profile or preference information
- security and service functionality
Hausie currently does not use non-essential analytics or marketing cookies in production. If that changes, Hausie will update its Cookie Policy and implement any consent mechanism required by applicable law.
9. Remote support
Hausie may offer remote support features. When authorised, remote support may involve temporary support windows, support session records, support user creation, connectivity tooling and technical logs necessary to diagnose and resolve service issues.
Remote support settings and rules include:
- customer authorisation before access is enabled
- a default support window of
120minutes unless another arrangement is agreed
Remote support is not intended to mean continuous monitoring of the home. When a remote support session is authorised, Hausie personnel or authorised service providers may be able to view system configuration, device metadata, entity names, automation settings, logs and other technical diagnostics reasonably necessary to investigate the issue.
Where technically possible, customers may revoke or disable remote support access, but doing so may limit Hausie's ability to provide support, diagnostics or premium support features.
10. Children and household users
Hausie is intended to be contracted and managed by an adult account holder.
Household users, including children, may use certain smart home functions where access is provided by the primary account holder. The primary account holder is responsible for supervising any household access they create or authorise.
If Hausie becomes aware that it collects personal information relating to children through household access, Hausie may rely on the authority of the responsible parent or guardian where appropriate under applicable law.
11. Disclosure of personal information
We may disclose personal information to:
- Wix
- Stripe
- AWS and hosting/infrastructure providers
- Tailscale and remote support tooling providers
- Home Assistant-related integration services where applicable
- service providers that assist with support, operations, security or communications
- regulators, authorities or other parties where required by law
Current additional provider position: No additional customer-facing production providers are currently identified beyond the core providers already listed. Internal or future operational tools may be added later and should be reviewed before publication if they process customer data.
12. Overseas disclosure
If Hausie stores or processes information using infrastructure or vendors located outside Australia, personal information may be disclosed overseas in connection with those services.
13. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Customers also play an important role in protecting their own environments. Weak passwords, shared credentials, insecure Wi-Fi, poor local access controls, unsupported devices and compromised third-party accounts can materially increase privacy and security risk outside Hausie's direct control.
14. Retention
Hausie retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide services, resolve disputes, maintain support records, comply with legal obligations and protect the business.

If you have a complaint about how Hausie handles personal information, contact us first using the contact details above. Hausie will review the complaint and respond within a reasonable period.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, data handling practices, legal obligations or risk controls. The latest version will be published on the relevant Hausie service surfaces.
If we make a material change to how personal information is collected, used, disclosed or otherwise handled, Hausie will provide additional notice where appropriate and, where required by law, seek fresh consent or provide any applicable control before the change takes effect.
